| So having an opinion makes me the enemy. Voicing my mind makes me an asshole. Knowing what I stand for has cost me your friendship, love, trust, and respect. How fuckin' ironic. What? Should I just give up the things I believe in so I can gain some acceptance? What do I do it for, if no one really gives a shit?
[edit] I fully understand that people can have their own opinions, and I have mine, and no one has the right to get in the way of that, unless the opinions promote harmful actions. But I just find it ironic that if you're gonna have principles, morals, ideals, or any strong belief, and you're gonna stand by them, you're gonna have to be ready for the consequences, because you're inevitably going to have enemies, people who hate you, even friends who will start to look at you differently, because people don't agree with each other. Is the risk worth it? It's either to be popular, loved, and respected and fit into the crowd, while you have no backbone of your own, or it's to be ridiculed, looked down upon, and cast out because you actually stand for something. What's more worth it?[/edit]
